One of these players brings his deep immersion in Scottish Gaelic language to the table, is a living tune book, and holds multiple awards as a fiddler and Gàidhlig singer. The other weaves influences from her formative years playing bass and bouzouki in her native Cajun Louisiana, draws from her studies at University College, Cork, and cranks assorted side quests up to eleven.

Together, Seán Heely and Beth Patterson have created an album that invites the listener to experience their shared love of obscure lore, anecdotes, and humor.

Stir the Blood to Fire is a motley tapestry of rare and previously unrecorded music the duo discovered, new material they co-wrote, the preservation of old songs in pure dialects, a few instrument innovations, and some unorthodox crossovers between Celtic and Louisiana sounds.
